In the US, approximately 46 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every single week day. That’s equivalent to over
12,500 each year. On February 28, 2003, Cory Duane Cross became one of these children; he was diagnosed with an extremely
rare and aggressive brain cancer and was given a less than 10% chance of survival.
One out of every five children diagnosed with cancer dies. Again, Cory became one of these children when he earned his well deserved
angel wings on July 28th, 2007.
Throughout his 4 ½ year battle, Cory and his family were blessed to have the emotional and financial support of family, friends
and even strangers. In an effort to “pay it forward” the Cory Cross Foundation was founded in 2010. The foundation’s purpose
is to compassionately provide this same type of support to other children and families fighting cancer. In addition, the foundation
also supports the Riley Hospital Children’s Foundation and local youth organizations.
Cory’s Crewz for a Cure, a benefit motorcycle ride and live auction, is the largest annual fundraiser for the foundation. 100% of
the proceeds benefit the Cory Cross Foundation.
