Indianapolis is a busy and growing city with many busy intersections, but some are more dangerous than others. According to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, there were 15,028 crashes in Indianapolis in 2020, resulting in 7,418 injuries and 80 fatalities. Here are the top five most dangerous intersections in Indianapolis based on crash data:

  1. East 38th Street and North Keystone Avenue – This intersection had 52 crashes in 2020, resulting in 23 injuries and 0 fatalities. It’s a busy intersection with multiple lanes of traffic, and drivers need to be cautious and attentive.
  2. West 38th Street and North High School Road – This intersection had 41 crashes in 2020, resulting in 21 injuries and 1 fatality. It’s a high-traffic area with several shopping centers and restaurants nearby, and drivers need to be careful when turning and changing lanes.
  3. East 10th Street and North Shadeland Avenue – This intersection had 40 crashes in 2020, resulting in 16 injuries and 0 fatalities. It’s a heavily traveled area with many commercial businesses, and drivers need to be alert for pedestrians and other vehicles.
  4. East Washington Street and North Post Road – This intersection had 39 crashes in 2020, resulting in 18 injuries and 1 fatality. It’s a major intersection with a large shopping center nearby, and drivers need to be cautious when making left turns.
