Statement from the Family of David Risley
Our family is heartbroken as we stand by David’s side after a violent assault on August 16 outside That Place Bar. David remains in critical condition on life support at Eskenazi Hospital, and we continue to pray for his strength and recovery.
Each day, we sit at his bedside, praying for a miracle and holding tightly to hope. David is a beloved father, son, brother, partner, and friend. Our lives have been forever changed, and we are leaning on each other and the support of our community as we navigate this difficult time.
We are deeply grateful to the medical professionals working tirelessly to care for David, and to the friends, family and community members who have offered their prayers, texts, calls, financial support, and meal train. We ask that you continue to keep David in your thoughts.
We trust in the ongoing investigation and the legal process to ensure accountability and justice. Out of respect for David and the investigation, our family will not be providing additional public comment at this time.
