1st Annual John McGuire Memorial Ride to Benefit HVAF
May 19, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm$25 – $30
The flyer tells you a little about my son, John McGuire. We lost John in a car accident on October 10, 2015 when he was 18 years old. He fell asleep behind the wheel after leaving his girlfriends home in Avon striking the traffic pole at the intersection of US 36 and Shiloh Crossing. John worked at MCL in Avon. He was a good person, student and baseball player. Had a passion for life and loved people. Since John’s passing my husband and I created the John McGuire Memorial Fund. We host events and use the proceeds raised to give to others in our son’s memory. The flyer shares information about the fund and what we have done with the proceeds and will continue to do. On Saturday, May 19th we will host our 1st Annual Memorial Motorcycle Ride to Benefit HVAF. The week before my son passed he shared a story with me about how he gave a homeless man the last bit of money in his pocket. Making minimum wage he said to me, “Mom, I don’t know what it’s like to go without food, clothes, or a bed. How could I not help him.” I couldn’t be prouder of the young man we raised. Being able to give to HVAF and others in our sons memory is my way to keep him alive. It’s my only way. I truly appreciate your time and consideration.
